In Europe, a symmetrical date If someone has a new baby, how soon do you need to visit? Do you call to make sure it is convenient or would you just show up?

Speaking as someone with a baby at the moment, give me a few days/week to adjust to being home with my new little one, as well as learning their schedule. And don't show up un-announced, you may be interrupting feeding time or nap time.
The one that got me the worst, was someone coming by during nap time (even after they had been told) and expecting me to go wake Olli up so they could see and play with him. And then wonder why he's cranky. And they still do this.

Y'all are just so considerate! I wish I had known you when the D's were littlle. My FSIL is going through what Nesa is experiencing and right now is host to my father and his wife for five days followed three days later by my mom for three days. The little guy just turned a month old.
